Puppies for sale.1 NOTICE To whom it may concern. We at MIJOY sell our pups as pets and ONLY pets. All our advertising etc, carries this information. We supply you with a contract at the time of purchase, a fair amount of you return your contract, signed etc, others do not. Irrespective whether that contract is signed or not by you the purchaser, that is the terms and conditions under which you were sold a pup. You also would have been told at the time of making the enquiry, that the pup is sold purely as a pet. A VERBAL CONTRACT. Non-compliance with our terms and conditions by not signing and returning your contract, does not mean, you can now do what you like with the pup concerned IF at any stage we become aware or suspect, that our dogs are being used in ANY breeding programme, by anyone, be it a member of the public or a BREEDER… we will take the necessary action. Firstly we would require the letter from your vet with the pup/dogs own microchip number, stating exactly when the said dog/pup was sterilised, and if it is not sterilised we would want to know why. In our contract, it stipulates that sterilisation of our pups is NOT NEGOTIABLE. If the owner can not prove sterilisation as pre-adult dog, we will insist on DNA tests being performed, on dogs or pups we believe could be the progeny of dogs purchased by the person concerned, as a pet. To breed from dogs that are sold to persons as pets, is fraudulent and illegal. The registration papers pertaining to the pup bought from us, will carry breeding restrictions. This therefore is understandable if our dogs are bred with and their progeny sold as registered dogs, that the breeder thereof has had to make use of registration papers not relating to the animal in question.
Possibly the time has arrived to have all REGISTERED dogs bred in SA to have their own DNA profile. This will not only stop the public being conned by being sold cross breeds, passing them off as pedigreed dogs. It will also stop “SOME” Breeders from falsifying the pedigrees of their puppies.
NB: IF NO contract is returned to us just prior to the pup concerned turning 4 months of age, which is the latest we can initially register that pup – we reserve the right NOT to make application to KUSA for registration of that particular pup.
