SO much more than just a TINY DOG.........

SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST A TINY DOG????

Over the last good few months, actually years,  I am becoming more and more frustrated with people who just do not seem to realize what a GENUINE TEACUP DOG is all about.

The reason MIJOY explain it, as best as we can, 24/7  365days a year.  This is what a teacup dog is all about.  It needs that total commitment from its owner, each and every day.

“ I AM HOME ALL DAY”  means NOTHING.   You are either suited to owning this sized pup/dog or you are not.  It is very much like having a baby. You would not go off for hours on end and leave your Baby, same applies here.  You would not leave your baby at all.

The reason we say VERY FEW PEOPLE ARE SUITED TO OWNING THIS SIZE DOG.   I am also inundated with people wanting these sized dogs for their son or daughter, son or daughter can be anything from 2 years of age upwards.   AGAIN we stress the teacup bonds with ONE person.  So if this is meant to be your child’s dog, TOTALLY UNSUITED TO ANY CHILD OR SCHOLAR OR VARSITY STUDENT  you will fill in when the owner is not around. ???  AGAIN this dog bonds with ONE person.  IT will accept other family members but it will always be wanting that ONE PERSON. The owner.

I sold a very tiny girl to people who had been waiting a very long time.  They are over the moon with this teacup however, the Husband said he was very nervous in the beginning with this very small pup, now that she is older he is very much more relaxed.

PEOPLE just do not understand they think here is a tiny pup how demanding can this situation be? The answer to that is VERY DEMANDING.

How dedicated do I need to be? The answer to that MAJOR DEDICATED.

We will never pass on a tiny that has not been checked over a few times by our vet, and given the all clear health wise. We will NEVER pass on a tiny that is a difficult tiny to cope with. It happens, it is not a sickly pup, but finicky and if I find it finicky after all these years, can you imagine how you will find it???  Very difficult to cope.

We sell our pups with health guarantees.  This does not mean that you can abuse your dog and it will automatically be replaced.  Some humans are not suited to having their own children, so a huge majority of humans are not suited to owning this size pup or dog.

We do however have a good number of our tinies out there, that have the ideal owner, the ideal home and the ideal life.

I get told I have a dog of 1.2kg this one needs to be tinier????  Can you the owner deal with a tinier dog???

I also get people who attempt to pressurize me into getting the next teacup available or one that we have decided to keep as we feel it is major hectic to care for and our trusted vet of many years feels it is just TOO tiny for the public to cope with.    PEOPLE again feel they will cope, however we have seen this happen before a few times in the past – especially ten or so years ago,  that irrespective of what the purchaser thinks, they actually DO NOT COPE.

PLEASE DO NOT ORDER A VERY TINY DOG IF YOU ARE NOT THE RIGHT OWNER, DO NOT HAVE THE LIFESTYLE OF THE 24/7  365 DAYS A YEAR TO PLAY BABY.  THESE ARE LIVES TO US, PRECIOUS LIVES TO US, JUST NOT ANOTHER DOG!!!!!!!

One good thing that does happen a good few people who see my tinies will say straight out, “this is not for me, way too tiny.”

There is no question about it, we own and breed the tiniest pups in SA

However having made this statement, our tinies are NOT bred from teacup dogs, they are bred from the normal miniature females with smaller studs.  SOME of our dogs carry the gene for the tiny dogs, this is how we end up producing TINIES.  We do not interbreed our dogs or breed from small females.  Our tinies are bred correctly the reason they are healthy tinies.

The healthiest tiny is a dog that needs to be kept an eye on. So do not assume if you need to keep a close eye on a particular pup it is because there is a risk as it is a sickly or weak pup. NOT so.

The public see this pup or dog, as being just tooooo cute for words, suited to a small property small garden, limited space – ideal size of dog. They do not look at the big picture that that tiny is dependant on its owner for its wellbeing.

We at MIJOY are extremely proud of our dogs we breed in general, very proud of our healthy tinies.

People who have never owned a dog before are most definitely not Teacup owner material.

As one of my clients said a TEACUP IS A WAY OF LIFE.  I could not have said it better myself.

Owning a TINY is a huge responsibility.  Very rewarding but a 24/7 hands on required.

Lastly in general our own bred tinies are healthy babies, seeing the vet for checkups as a young pup, sterilization. In 99% of cases thereafter they will only see a vet for general annual checkups.
